Waa Waa Waa...Are the Yankees and Steinbrenner a bunch of babies?

Asking an athlete to run is a bad thing? What an idiot! We're talking about a sporting event and the pitcher can't hit and run the bases? If anything is rediculous, it's the DH rule in the first place. What a clown representing a classless organization.

Yes. The Yankees are sissies. Their pitchers are anyway. They are expected to cover first, back up third or the plate when it is called for, and hustle for bunts, and run to some extent. When they are playing in a NL park, they are required to "exert" themselves a bit more on the base paths. Wang essentially hurt himself running. It could have happened anytime, anywhere. Perhaps the real fault lies with the conditioning coach.

Steinbrenner is a crybaby. It is always fun to hear what he is going to say next. From Santana and the Twins to JOBA to now this, he always opens his big fat mouth and spews forth nonsensical garbage. Wang hurt himself running the bases in a NL park so it must be the NLs fault. It's all or nothing with this guy.

    Crybabies! Idiots! Classless!

I think Steinbrenner needs to wake up. He wouldn't have been complaining if it was a Red Sox player or any other team's pitcher except his team. The injury to Wang could have happened anywhere whether it was running the bases, jogging out to the field from the dugout, etc....Injuries happen Steinbrenner is just mad because he knows his Yankees aren't going to make the playoffs.

Personally I prefer to watch the AL. I like the rule of the DH not because it's protecting pitchers from running the bases, but for the fact that hitters are paid to play the field and hit. Pitchers are paid to do one thing and that is to pitch. A bulk of their training is about stamina and being able to pitch deep into games. Where as hitting isn't what they are paid to do. So, I can see why it's frustrating to Steinbrenner becuase his best pitcher went down, but it's fun to see AL pitchers try to hit.

I have to wonder if he would feel the same if, for example, the Cubs were playing the Yankees, and Soriano was DH-ing, and got hurt, if he would feel as bad for a player getting hurt doing something he doesn't normally do. (Maybe he pulls a hammy because he hasn't been running around in the field)

I think maybe Hank needs to get just a little more experience then less then a full season. maybe if he had actually had to learn a little bit about the game to get his position, rather then having his rich daddy hand him a team on a silver platter, he just might have a freakin' clue.

By the way Hank, how's that managerial change working out for ya?

First of all it's not the Yankees or the fans, it's Hank Steinbrenner. Quit throwing a blanket over everyone else. And yes, Steinbrenner continues to embarrass himself and the organization with his half witted remarks. He is the one who needs to grow up!

At times, they are a bunch of crybabies. But what does the DH rule in the American League have to do with it?I am a National League guy and think the pitcher should hit,but the American League does have it and there's nothing you or I can do about it.Why this pertains to just the Yankees is beyond me.

  • While Steinbrenner should shut up. I think he made a decent point. Either the DH rule should be completely done away with..or it should be added to both leagues.

While I dont agree with him, I kinda see where he's coming from. He's upset because Wang had to do something that he's not accustomed to doing [run the bases]. It just shows that the league should change the DH rule across the board.

EDIT: I'm not saying that it should be allowed because of poor Wang and the poor Yankees who dont have an ace now. I'm saying they should make a firm decision once and for all and either allow it in both leagues or remove it in both leagues.

Why dont you grow up? In case your forgetting running the bases is no piece of cake, especially rounding third. Its especially difficult if you've never done it or rarely do it, as in the case of American League pitchers. It could have happened to any pitcher of any American League team, so why dont you take your immaturity some place else.
