suggestions (xbox 360)?

I am looking into buying an xbox 360. Though I want to spend as little as possible, what are the essentials that I must not be without such as memory capacity etc etc. Any further suggestions as to any other kit needed not in the basic kit such as charger for controllers, xbox live membership, what is a sensible budget before I start buying games for it. I am grateful for any advice Oh and is a pre-owned console a good option or is it risky buying one due to condition errors etc.

the man things you need are a play and charge kit a controller, if you're getting xbox live you need a webcam,a headset,a messenger kit and an internet cord plus the $60 a year for live but only get preowned from licensed resellers

Things you should consider before buying and Xbox 360

-Hard Drive is must have for any real gaming experience I have the 20GB and going on 3 years have not run out of space yet.

-I would recommend purchasing the play and charge kit to save on batteries ($20).

-It comes with a free 30 Days of Xbox Live! Gold so you can enjoy that first without purchasing upfront.

-I would advise not getting a pre-owned console unless there is an option for a warranty add-on as the Xbox 360's do tend to have issues from time to time. However if you are interested in saving money you can get a refurb from someplace like gamestop and purchase and extended warranty and it would still be less expensive. Than a new console

-If you have never played any 360 games before now is a good time to come into the market as they have the 360 Platinum series which are games usually under $20 check them out at

Pre-owned consoles should be fine but i would suggest getting it from a licensed reseller, if you try ebay or something you may end up with a console that has previously overheated or something and it wont turn on. I would strongly recommend getting a play and charge kit (http://www.game.co.uk/Xbox360/Hardware/Accessory/~... because otherwise you will get through AA battery's in no time, a HDMI cable is also worthwhile if you have a HD tv. Finally xbox live is good but you will probably find a free 2 week trial voucher or something like that in any new games you buy- if so give it a try and make your own choice.
