Ultrasound- baby measuring 2 weeks smaller than I am supposed to be?

My LMP was August 26th. I had 2 periods that month which is VERY unusual for me. Anyways, I found out at the end of Sept. that I was pregnant. According to my LMP, I should be around 7 1/2 weeks now. I had blood work done last week which they said was good. Anyways, now, I have been spotting very lightly, a brownish discharge on and off. I went for an ultrasound today and they had a very hard time finding the sac and she said it was not measuring 7 1/2 weeks. They couldn't find really anything at this stage. My doctor is a bit concerned, so I am having blood work today and again on Monday. Has anyone had this same sort of scenario and found out the dates were just off or something? I am positive about my LMP but ovulation of course could be the issue. Please help!

I had something like this happen with my first. At that time, unless there was a problem, they only usually did one ultrasound (just over 11 years ago). I was only 17 at the time, so the doctor just assumed I had no idea when I had my last period (even though I told HIM what my due date was on my first visit). Anyway, he thought she was measuring small for dates, so he wanted to bump my due date up from June 8th to July 15th. My hubby (then fiance) freaked, because he was due to leave for basic training July 6th. Long story longer, as it turned out, she was born May 22nd, almost 3 weeks before my original date! Nope, she wasn't a preemie either. Just proves that doctors don't know everything, even when they think they do, and babies usually come when they're darn good and ready! As a side note, my 2nd child was "supposed" to be around 8 or 9 lbs. He was 11lbs 2oz. My 3rd was also "supposed" to be 7 or 8 lbs, and he was 10lbs 15.6oz. On the other hand, my friend's 3 kids were supposed to be over 8lbs, and she's TINY! Her biggest one was 6lbs 7oz. Like I said, doctors don't know absolutely eveything, especially with babies. EDD means exactly what they say: Estimated due date (or date of delivery). To a large degree, it's a guessing game, not an exact science. Good luck to you!

If they are concerned then they will do test and find out for sure how far long u are, i was 24 weeks and my stomach measured i was 22 weeks, so there could be a chance its right, and your baby is just going to be on the small side

Ultrasounds are only accurate up to 2 weeks either way....I was 17 weeks at mine but baby was only at 15 weeks and thats what my doc said about it.
