Abdominal pain and tingling arms/hands?

My friend has been having pains in her lower abdomen, which leads to diarrhoea and requires her to breathe intensely. After the diarrhoea she feels discomfort and cold. Her arms/hands also become tingly and numb when she is feeling ill. she vomited once or twice. Could this be a form of food poisoning or something else? because she has had this before about a month ago and many times before that.

Some of the suspected causes could be:

~A beefburger from her school she ate a couple of days ago(which she said was burnt and tasted odd)

~A ketchup sachet that was damaged(which she put on the burger)

~A cheese Puff offered by a unhygenic friend(that would eat stuff she dropped on a public floor and licks tables) ... omfg Dx guuuh~~

Your help is much appreciated

It sounds like food poisoning. I suffered Thursday night/Friday morning (8.5 hours!!!) from that and it is NO picnic! Abdominal pains, barfing, diarrhea, dry heaves (the worst!). I felt cold and shivery all night/morning. I hope your friend will be okay! I think it is food poisoning and it will pass. Your friend will go through hell first, though and when the "bouts" get farther and farther in between, this is a sign that it is beginning to end. I "knew" when the last bout was as I just felt different.

colon cancer, kidney stones, constipation, chrohns disease, diverticulitis, PID, ileus, testicular torsion, inguinal hernia, irritable bowel syndrome, ulcerative colitis are all indicated by lower left abdominal pain. If it was a piercing pain this is more indicative of a hernia then any of the above. Cramping symptoms direct you more towards constipation and irritable bowel symptoms. If you have additional symptoms of any kind I highly suggest seeking medical attention, most particularly if you have a fever or the area is swollen in any way. IF you do have additional symptoms google them into a search including the abdominal pain, there are many medical sites that help give you a self diagnosis of combined complaints.

It could be gastritis or GERD. You can have those symptoms with both of these diseases. I was diagnosed with both about two years ago. The tingly hands can be from hyperventilating. I've done that too. Always the best thing is to go to your doctor for a reliable diagnosis. Also, if she is hyperventilating have her breathe into a paper bag. That will help with the tingling and numbness.

  • Eating funny stuff and ending up with diarrhea later is no coincidence. Sounds like she's really having food poisoning. But if it's food poisoning, she must have been a messy eater or something if she's been having several episodes of this before. Whatever it is, better get her checked to a doctor - fast!

For best safety I recomend seeing a doctor and taking possible blood/ urine samples just to be safe. I'm sure it's nothing too bad, but you want to make sure.

I wish her the best of luck.

My advice is to use leeches to enable bloodletting. Waving a pot of smoked eel under the nostrils will reduce nausea.

I'm sure you may find better advice from others here. Not.

See a doctor for medical advice.
