I have updated SKYPE to the latest version and I've lost all my contacts. How do I recover them?

When I updated mine some time ago it didn't affect them.
Are you sure you didn't "install" a new version instead of updating the old one?
If you did, then it would be the same as reinstalling your OS as a clean install and everything is wiped off and you start again.
