Selling a car with a sign stuck in the window !?

I have just placed a couple of signs in my car windows giving its details and price advertising it for sale. Has anybody done the same and been successful !

Update:

Thanks for the answers so far, I asked if anybody had been successful in selling a car this way, I did not ask for advice as to how to sell a car , but thanks anyway !

I have sold a couple this way but you need several signs so you can see from all directions & a prime spot to park the car so that a large number of people can see it. Good luck

Placing signs in a vehicle for sale parked on a public street or in view of a public street is a great start to selling a vehicle. However, if you want to really sell it, more effort should be put into it. I would post ads through the free mediums on the internet (i.e. craigslist) at the very least. If you want to do even more, you might invest a little money into selling the vehicle. You can do this buy using websites that are not free (usually more reliable) to post a classified and place ads in the largest local newspaper. If you are hesitant to put money into the sale of a vehicle, remember you can always tack on your expenses to the asking price for the car!

I have read several signs like that. If I had actually been interested I may have purchased the car. So, yes it would work.

I would also try free sources like craigslist and maybe for a small fee your local paper will list it.

I have sold a couple of cars on eBay but the fee is high($125) if it sells

A chap in the UK tried selling his car by putting a similar notice

behind the car's windscreen, and parking the car outside his

    own home.

The local council told him to remove the car, otherwise they

would take him to court for trading !

also try things like ebay it only costs maximum of £5 to advertise it and they have a 93% success rate of selling your car.

I have never done that, but my friend has and has sold a car, a truck & a boat.

It might be easier to place an advert in the local paper or classified ads.
