I'm sorry, I'm a bit confused. What does this article have to do red flip flops? (or flip flops of any color, for that matter.)

Anyway, thanks for the interesting article! It was my understanding that, though the turban is traditional, a Sikh can choose any head covering as long as the hair is covered. Wouldn't a regular helmet fit that bill, then, as long as it covered enough area? Obviously my understanding is not correct; I got it simply through conversations with people and not through careful study.

Of course, this has piqued my curiosity. I found this interesting picture of a Sikh regiment from WWI. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:SikhsInFrancePos... Apparently, Sikhs fought in both world wars, and they never wore helmets. You might also be interested to read about the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Saragarhi , in which 21 Sikhs held off 10,000 Afgan fighters. Wow, those guys were bad a**. I wonder if they'll ever make a movie about it?

Anyway, if modern technology can offer these brave men a little more protection as they protect others, it seems like a good idea to me.

No sense me becoming cross. My 23 year old son has just applied for the police and he is quite sensible he knows he wont get in because off his religion, colour and hes not gay.

Police Forces have become to PC they would appear to be run more like a business than protectors of the people.

Its the article which is nonense im not cross with you. It could just end up with red sparkly shoes and sun hats the way things are going.
