Please could you recommend some mecha and romance/comedy themed anime? just something similar to Macross Frontier and Escaflowne :D Preferably a short and sweet series, no ecchi if possible and around 25 eps long ||orz

Mecha anime cover all series that revolve around the use of piloted robotic armors in battle, which is broken down into two subcategories of Super Robot and Real Robot. The mecha genre in anime is still alive and well as the new millennium came, with revival OVAs like Getter Robo: the Last Day, Diebuster and Mazinkaiser from the Super Robot tradition, the new Gundam Seed series from the Real Robot side, and Reideen, a recent remake of the 1975 hit series Brave Raideen.

I would have to recommend Eureka 7 and Brigadoon for this one. They fit the exact description you named above. I hope you like them. Eureka 7 goes a bit more to the science fiction side, though.
