Great information! The Lambda sensor is an electronic nose that sits in the exhaust system and tells the computer how much oxygen is in the exhaust mixture. The computer then alters fuel mixture accordingly to keep the air/fuel mix as close to perfect stoichometric ratio as possible. Some cars have O2 sensors BEFORE tha converter, and AFTER the converter to compare values and make further adjustments. For everything to work the way it should, your IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE, throttle body and PCV system should be showroom clean at all times. This will prolomng the life of expensive converters, and exhaust system components, since unburnt fuel causes internal break-down over time. Good luck!!

Normally about £80! If you find your local PARTCO they usually do it cheaper though and their not hard to fit!
