How do you stop a wondering mouse?

The pointer symbol on my monitor moves slowly around the screen even when I'm not moving/clicking the mouse . How can I adjust my USB optical mouse to avoid this ?

Bribe it with cheese, but really, if you mouse is wandering by its self it may need to be repaired or replaced. i doubt any setting could keep it from doing that.

    First: Clean your optical sensor.

    If that doesn't work:

Getting a surface with a solid, non-shiny color, like a mouse pad (which has a special coating) or a mat painted table.

Something like a wooden table will cause it to wander along the grains, which confuse the optical sensor.

It depends on the surface the mouse is on. It especially happens on a shiny surface. Try placing the mouse on a white piece of paper and see if it helps. If not, you might need to get a new mouse

Disable the touchpad - you are accidentally brushing it with your thumbs, there will be a hardware or software switch to do this on your laptop

If its not that then the mouse is faulty

had this issue with my dell desire that it does no longer worsen for you because it did with mine which includes reveal screen problems yet whilst it does then this is the conection between the lap-precise and reveal screen while you're making use of a lap-precise reliable success and this is repaired actual
