Does anyone know what this might be?

Hi

About six weeks ago my hubby had a bout of shingles. This was treated for about 5 days and it seemed to go away, although the marks are still faintly there.

About two weeks ago he noticed a small mark under his right eye and a feeling of pressure behind it. It spread to around his right eye and his right temple and down his right hand side of his face to the jaw. Then it spread into his sinus's and then left temple and then his forehead.

He also has weakness in his left arm and a bit of tingling all over his body. He has been to two doctors, one of them twice. Neither have any answers.

He has done research and has found that some of the symptoms mirror MS but the doctor has said there is not enough to go on but does acknowledge that is is not out of the question but has said to be wary of googling symptoms. He has however referred him to a neurologist later on. In the meantime my hubby is going mental over worrying.

I am not convinced about MS although I am not qualified to know this. I am however wondering if it is a left over from the shingles bout. Has anyone else had weird symptoms like this???

Any feedback would be great.

Thanks.

Update:

Thank you so far but as I mentioned we have been to two doctors (one of them twice) and have been referred to a neurologist. So we ARE seeing a professional.

Does he have any other health problems? Other symptoms that aren't related to this? There are some diseases that either sort of get kicked on or worsen following a major event (stress, illness, pregnancy), so it's possible that it was triggered by the shingles. MS is a possibility. Make sure they test him for celiac disease too. It's one that often starts or worsens after an illness. It can have only neurological symptoms too. Many neurologists overlook this one even though it's more common than a lot of other diseases and can cause the exact same symptoms as MS or lupus. There really isn't any way to know what his diagnosis is based on this information, but definitely tell your doctor to include the celiac disease. He will no doubt look into the MS, but he's less likely to look into celiac disease.

It's also possible that he is having complications from shingles. I'm not an expert on shingles, but here are some links I found:

Let me know if you have any questions! Good luck to your husband.

Wow this is pretty scarry! I would seek more doctor's opinions.

My mother in law has had shingles twice. This lead to bells palsey which mimicked a mild stroke. She still has problems with one of her eyes wanting to close when whe gets tired. She gets botox shots every few months near her eye to help keep it from closing, but your husbands symptoms are way different than hers. Good luck on a diagnosis and if you have a bad gut feeling about your doctor don't hesitate to get an opinion from another doctor.

Don't take people's word on the internet, keep seeing different doctors and getting more professional opinions.

I think I would probably see a professional about that.
