Whats the Rockabilly scene like in Dublin?

I hear the Dice Bar in Smithfield is good spot on sundays, has anyone been there? Does anyone know of other bars/ live music venues or bands in the Dublin area?

Cheers.

    Yeah they're not advertised particularly well, i've never seen a poster or heard anything on the radio.

    But there is a scene, Dice is good, Thomas house on Thomas street has a night called 'H-Bomb' on saturdays theres also 'The Recession Club' in Shebeen Chic on Georges street i think thats the last saturday of every month. They're the one's off the top of my head.

    Theres also a few big gigs every month or so, I know theres a big one called the 'Retro Revival Ball' in the Academy in October.

    Best thing is to keep an eye on these sites;

    I actually don't recall seeing any rockabilly gigs advertised. However there has to be a rockabilly scene as there is just about everything else. However after the Dice barI presume whelans or the village (on wexford st. & Thomas st.) would be your next ports of call.

    what about nashville? or knoxville? knoxville is a lovely place and i love the rockabilly music there. athens, ga also has great music, but not specifically rockabilly. more indie rock. or you could try los angeles or san francisco if you like bigger cities. both of those places have a great rockabilly scene. good luck - wish i could be of more help. :)
