Who is running the Country ?

A monkey with a pen would probably be doing a better job at the moment. The truth is the whole labour government is running it as a joint effort. On paper, right now Mandy is because Brown cannot run the country from his blackberry, although I'm sure he has tried. If there is an emergency then Brown would step in but as far as Labour is concerned nothing seems out the ordinary and Harman did not do a good job for their PR. The labour government is becoming closer and closer to a reality television. Who will be running the country next? Who will make a fool of themselves on Andrew Marr's show? Find out next Sunday. The civil service is running the country, implementing policies already passed by government following debate in Parliament, Parliament is in recess, so that process is no longer ongoing... apart from photo opportunities and PR, (and moonlighting for Corporations - a Tory tradition) - there isn't anything for our erstwhile leaders to actually be doing. Sorry, but it's a media myth that there is something Brown and Co can do to address issues as they arise in the media on a day to day basis, as no one is a dictator in a democracy.

Officiaaly, when the PM is away the Deputy is in charge, but the PM returns if an emergency arises.

Everyone seems to be wondering this. The country is in the biggest mess it`s been in for years, and they are all away on 3 month`s holiday - with no captain at the tiller.

Talk about Nero fiddling while Rome burned.....Here we have Britain going down the plughole while Brown procrastinates on holiday.

That's a very good question - we seem to have been abandoned whilst they enjoy a long recess. Mind you I'm not sure we'll notice the difference - Government Departments still run with or without our leaders so maybe MPs should all be made redundant!

I can tell you, The Media, The Effin Media, that is who is running and ruining our country, and Our President and alot of others are not doing anything to stop it or help, so I guess we just Obey. Yeah no, but good question, wish we all knew.

No one is the short answer and has been for some time. Events are running the Country not politicians

Well, obviously president is the one who make a changes in a country signing law, thinking the best for his nation and etc.. but people is the most important in a country they are the one who build a strong nation, so i think people in a countyr is the one who run it.

Brussels. as it has been for years. our MPs haven't the balls or the brains to run a night out at bingo, let alone this country. All they are fit for is the quiet theft of public money. And 'frankly' they couldn't even get that! right.

I think Harriet Haha is ruining - soz running things. Well, she specifically told Brown she wanted more important things to do, and I'm sure he agreed and left her to continue the 'incredibly' valuable work.

I think it's the banks and bankers. They seem to have got away with all their greed's and mistakes. they do what they like, and we the tax payers have to suffer. We don't really need a government, cant see how anyone could run the country, do you?
