Rounding numbers? ( to the nearest thousand)?

I feel stupid. My son has a rounding question. We`re rounding to the nearest thousand. For example; 4760 is between 4000 and 5000, and is rounded to 5000.

I need the following questions answered.

561 is between_____ and 1000 and is rounded to 1000.

201 is between _____ and and 100 and is rounded to 1000.

We`re rounding to the nearest 1000

Update:

I figured there would be plenty of students here

Update 2:

0 at one end and 1000 at the other?

Update 3:

I`m rounding up to the nearest thousand.

    500 for both.

    But if you are only rounding up the second one is correct, if not its 0

    if your rounding to the thousands you look ant the hundreds place and if its 5 and up it rounds up. 4 and down and it rounds down so 561 is 1000 and 201 is 100
