Present to give my fiance on the birth of our baby?
I know that it is traditional for a man to give his partner an eternity ring on the birth of their first baby, but i would also like to buy my fiance a present to give him when our baby is born. I'm only 12 weeks gone, so know i have plenty of time, but i'm just trying to get some ideas. I want something meaningful, but as he doesn't really wear jewellery i am a bit stuck!! Any ideas would be greatfully recieved!!

I think the baby will be meaningful enough and a very good gift to give him! There's a reson why women get the presents- it's called pregnancy and labour. However it's nice you want to get him something. How about a silver photo frame and put a picture of his first cuddle with the baby in it, that he can keep at work or something? Or buy a casting kit and take a casting of your baby's feet?

I agree. The baby is an amazing gift to give your fiance. However, if you still are pushing to buy him a gift, how about something with the baby in mind. Like a photo frame with the dad & baby's first time together. Or your baby's feet and hand prints in a picture frame.
Go cheap, save all your extra money for the new baby!!

I think the baby is the only gift either of you need. My husband offered to buy me a "push present" and I told him that the new addition to our family is an amazing gift and any money spent around the time of birth should go to the hospital bill or diapers!

A watch/iPod etc engraving would be a simple, romantic idea. Have the date of your child's birth and 'I love you' or your childs name on it and it'll be something he'll use and remember by. Alternatively you could arrange a photoshoot with a photographer who will come to your house shortly after your baby is born and have a few portraits taken of you and your baby, him and your baby and all three of you together to put in a frame.
