Where is the source of the humidity?
I have a finished attic. I've lived in the house for almost 20 yrs. This yr I noticed condensation for the 1st time. I have no idea where it could be coming from!!! I'm not cooking more; I'm not washing my clothes more often. I've made sure the doors are closed tight to prevent air from 1st floor from getting in. I know it's more humid because I've been running a de-humidifier which I've seen the level to be as high as 80% on the readout. The only difference this yr is I had some work done on the radiator in the room. It's a forced hot water system. I hear the pressure escape valve hiss a lot more often since the work was done. The room is a warmer than before but I think it's also making the room more humid. Any ideas. I'm clueless.

its because you changed the temperature ! You need to get it surveyed by a pro and probably increase ventilation and or insulation.. if the air is flowing through the building it will help bring down the humidity .. if the walls are properly insulated..there will be less of a temperature difference between the warm air and cold walls for the condensation to settle.. or simply try turning down your heating a bit..

Sounds like you have the clothes dryer vented into the attic or the stove hood vented there. Check and if so, get them vented to the outside as soon as possible. Leaving the humidity high will cause serious problems.

You don't sound clueless to me. I think you've answered your own question. Get whomever worked on your radiator back. Either there work went awry or something they installed is not right.
