I would not recommend selling your own house, unless you're a licensed agent with selling experience. The amount of money you save by not paying commission, you will more than lose due to the lack of exposure (therefore bidding) and also the inevitable errors in the transaction you will make.

To put it bluntly, being cheap in real estate doesn't pay off. I understand your logic, but paying for a local, experienced agent is worth its weight in gold.
