Looking for the name of a song?

This is quite an old song, I remember hearing this on the radio, All I know is its a female singer who Im sure is a redhead (think it was part of a competishion and that was the link) The only Lyric I can remember is

"mama was cooking bread, she wore a dirty rag around her head, from a pot she ate never used a fork or a dinner plate" The song is telling of how she turned her back on her mum and had said to her husband that her mum had died and how she regrets it and how she misses her mum and is telling her sorry.....

I know it sounds all very random Hope someone can help
