Why aren't News of the World reporters prosecuted for fraudulently setting up celebs?
It is a disgrace that they are allowed to behave in this way

Because some of them think they are above, if not the law, then common decency. Journalist's always trot out the same excuse, "it's in the public interest". I've had no time for that argument ever since the BBC told the Argentinians in 1982 that their bombs weren't going off when they hit Royal Navy ships. The Argentines looked at the problem, found out what they were doing wrong and fixed the problem, as a result sailors started dying, all in the public interest of course.

Obviously this is allowed under investigative journalism. What always surprises me is that the celebs. could be so stupid as to think that this could not happen to them and that they could easily be involved in a "sting!
What interests me is if the journalists, newspapers are part of an Establishment get at somebody time and bring them down time plot which would throw a different light on matters. Are matters being orchestrated rather than for investigative journalism reasons which would be very disappointing.
Why do celebs. allow themselves to be set up?

Good question. They should put all those involved, including the celebs in court and cross-examine them. Like to hear what Fergie, Lord T. etc., have to say.

the media think they are a law unto themselves and even if they
break the law they can pay for the privilege. This fergie sting if not
an invasion of privacy must be a human rights issue. The press
have picked on fergie for ages, reporters,no,bully boys, yes

It needs someone to catch out people like Fergie. otherwise they'd do it forever. Good on em. Police do it all the time to catch criminals. How would you do it. I fear you wouldnt catch many.
