Dubai is a free port where you can shop a lot. The rules in dubai are flexible not as strict as in abu dhabi. Lot of places to roam and a beautiful night life to enjoy.

Around Christmas and New Year the weather will be cool and not 50 degrees.

Dubai and Abu Dhabi are both cities in the same country. I recommend that you visit Dubai then maybe you can go to Abu Dhabi by a taxi.

I think Abu Dhabi is better. Abu Dhabi is a great place were the local people are charming and you feel very safe. The place is clean for the most part but the pavements are not in good condition except for the corniche. Take the time to walk along and catch the sun set which is glorious. This will also give you a sense of local life.

I like Abu Dhabi better. It is beautiful with stunning beaches. It is a bit quieter than Dubai. You can always do a couple day trips to Dubai- they are only a couple hours apart.
