Clocks going forward ( Topical again !!)?

The question of keeping BST (British summertime) has raised its head once more and some Scottish parliamentarian has had a go at David Cameron about the suggestion. He mentions Dundee residents suffering for holiday makers in Torquay. Surely the 55 million people in England and Wales are being made to suffer for the 6 million in Scotland ? IF the Scottish children are at a disadvantage by potentially going to school in the dark then why not let them start at 10 am for a few weeks instead of 9.00 am ??

Given the length of hte UK, I don't see why we can't have a separate time zone - or even two. Other countries manage it! I wish we could go to double summer time in summer and stay on BST in winter. Yes, Scottish children could either start school later or stay with GMT. They have their own Government, so surely it's up to them.

One hour is not enough. Clocks need to change by two hours. On a dull London day in winter you 've got the lights on from about 2:00pm and it's dark by 3:30pm. It's so depressing. On the west coast of Ireland it doesn't get dark til about 11:30pm at night in the summer. It feels great.
