I know for a fact it is possible, weather the milk is drinkable I don't know. Weirdly enough my friend who is studying to be a doctor told us about it while we were in the pub one night and when I got home I looked it up on the computer because I found it so interesting, the truth lies in the fact that all embryos are female by default until a certain stage in the fetuses development when the male chromosomes are told to work, which is why both male and females have nipples. In puberty a woman's body creates hormones that allow the breasts to grow the same hormones are given to men who want to change gender it allows them to grow breasts and in some cases causes them to lactate. Its just a case of hormones, with enough of the right hormones and the inhibition of dopamine and the male hormone testosterone a male can lactate. Sometimes its a side effect caused by the hormone treatment given to suffers of prostate cancer, or those undergoing chemotherapy.

There have been reported cases of men breastfeeding babies. How or Who, or under what circumstance I do not know but there's bound to be some online newspaper on it on the internet somewhere.

It is possible but unlikely. Particularly if the mother's milk dries up, the mother passes and there is no aunt or other female relative nearby, it is possible in some cases for a male to begin lactating. Hormones do weird things. Sometimes even female dogs will start to lactate if the birth mothers milk dries.

Source(s): It is all about the survivial of the species.

its not very common practice but it is possible. who ever said it is phyiscally impossible because a males nipples are too small - ridiculous.

I pierced a mans nipple a few yrs ago. It leaked milk.! we were both shocked. he told me he was recently a father. VERY STRANGE but very possible.
