What if Don Curry fought Mike McCallum before he fought Honeyghan?

If Curry had moved up to 154 instead of fighting Lloyd Honeyghan, would he have beaten 'The Bodysnatcher'?

Remember, Curry was ahead on points before McCallum coldcocked him when they did meat.

First off, thank you for remembering the 80's! I'm of the belief that even though Curry was doing well against the body snatcher, (before that hook) i think the result might have been the same whenever they fought. i think mccallum was a bad match up for don! in fact, long ago, there were some grumblings that mike might outwork marvin hagler over 12 (or 15) rounds. i doubt marvin was afraid of him, but some pundits at KO magazine thought mike was that good.

Same result, am afraid. He would eventually be caught and it was his inability to take that kind of punch that separated him from the truly greats of his era and all time. And had he lost to McCallum, I don't see how a stellar fight versus Honeygan would have been made at least immediately.
