Why do some people take criticism so badly?

I'm don't mean people getting upset when you're really nasty to them, because that's understandable, but when you just tell them the truth, albeit maybe with less tact that they might have appreciated, they have a big sulk and call you a jerk. I've seen it a fair bit on Y!A lately with people asking REALLY stupid questions about REALLY stupid things they've done / plan to do, then someone has a sulk and reports you when you bring this stupidity to their attention.

I don't really see how calling people stupid is constructive criticism. If you're trolling and deliberately trying to rub people up the wrong way (not saying you are) then fair play to you, but don't complain when your targets get visibly annoyed and don't dish out what you can't take.

Because A multitude of Americans suffer from bouts of low self-esteem...... For they are taught who to like and when they find fault with that form of system and they have no one to turn to for direction they start putting themselves down and then someone comes along and criticizes them for their action their entire mind set blows up in their face... And that can leave them in a state of mental dysfunction... For a couple of years ago I met a guy who was a Neo Nazi and he hated Catholic, Jews, and blacks... And when I asked him why he had a long answer but his form of truth was totally based on propaganda that his group fed him on a daily basis and after talking with him for over a a few months I started seeing fault in what his group was telling him constantly... Then in one of our disagreement he said well can you prove what you are saying and I said yes, So we went to the closes library and after searching through several book we found a book that talked about a world wide blood test that took samples of blood from various groups of people from around this world and not one group of people was left out of this blood test and what we found out together was that every person on the face of this earth can trace their ancestors back to one tribe in africa do you have any idea as to what that mean... It mean that if you are White, Black, Chinese, Japanese or Polynesians or Russian or what ever you call yourself.... You have ancestors that were Africans..... And that also means that every human being on the face of this earth is related And you can not hate any group of people without winding up hating yourself.... What a moral and mental dilemma that we as a race of human have to deal with...................

bc some weren't brought up on constructive criticism they were never trained to except their failures or misconstrued ideas they believe everything they say is right. it's not your fault. but yah when someone is being outright belligerent then they need to be reported ASAP.

because too many people ate over "sensitive" and society lets them. That's why if something they dont like they will insult you to make you stop talking.
