Is gay marriage lame?
Don't get all pissy with me, Im not hating, Im gay
But the thought of ever proposing to my boyfriend makes me cringe..
Weddings are after all, the 'BRIDES' big day right? Weddings are girly affairs with dresses and flowers and all that crap. Ive never been to a gay wedding ceremony, but if their anything like regular weddings..well.. the image is enough to give any self-respecting man cold feet.
But ever since Obama (the bloody legend that he is) legalized gay marriage in new york my boyfriends been talking about it non-stop, and Im pretty sure hes dropping hints.
And as much as I love him, I just cant see two guys standing in front of an alter as anything other than awkward..and lame.
Whats your opinion on gay weddings? Am I just being an *** or do you see my point?
Haters will be drowned.
Some people have taken this completely the wrong way...Im not saying I don't think gay marriage should be legalized, of COURSE I support it, but its not my style, I wanted to know if I was the only one.
I may not want a wedding, that doesn't mean I don't want a marriage.

as you said it's all about the bride and in this scenario he sounds like the bride and he wants it.
it doesn't really make a difference if you're a straight or a gay couple.
you sound like most masculine men who don't like stuff like that or are afriad to commit so it seems you need to consider wether to do it for him.

talk to your boyfriend. Tell him your feelings. The thing is is that you don't have to go to a church. You can get married at city hall or a boat for that matter. It doesn't have to be a big affair. Also think of it this way getting married is not some awkward ritual in which in stand at the front of the room in front of some alter it is promising your love to the man you love and how you two will get a chance to keep on loving each other for the rest of your lives ( trust me I know how incredible cheesy that is but it doesn't make it any less true)

Gay Marriages should completely be allowed in all states and just because you do not want to get married does not mean you should not support it for other people. I think it is going to be a tough topic and a tough situation to deal with between you and your boyfriend.
As for my opinion on gay marriages aside from I completely support it and believe it should be legalized. I don't think it takes a ceremony, a piece of paper, or a ring to say "I love and want to spend the rest of my life with you."

with a lot of couples the civil service at city hall is all they want. it is purely a matter of legalizing the union. they already had the commitment so the legal issues were the only remaining factor.
if you have two very flambouyant queen types then you will probably see the big splashy event . more power to them but thats not for me either.
just you two in your best suits making a pledge. thats all
the spousal rights are the point of it all
if it were me and god willing it will be one day ... it will be a small ceremony at city hall followed by a beach party reception

well the thing is, your wedding can be anything you want, it can be a tiny little thing with like three other people in a little chappel, it can be a traditional "girly" wedding, or you could have an awesome theme, or just like an awesome huge party, if you're the party type. you could get married in private at the government office, and then have a party later.
just a few options, hope i helped :)

If you don't want to have a wedding or getting married, then don't. No ones forcing you.
Honestly I'd want to get married to a man or a woman. I'm not talking a huge chick wedding, but I want to be able to call them my husband or wife. But that's just me.
Everyone has a different opinion on getting married. If it's not your thing, then don't do it.
Best of luck,
Emily.

Yeah, ol' Bat Mouth is aware of her time is over.....and with all of the cash on the earth, she'd devour puppy s**t for a shred of notoriety. Guess she inherited the will - in conjunction with all that proficiency - from HillBilly Ray.

You're being a jerk.
Just because you don't want to get married doesn't make marriage between any other two men lame.
