Why was Allain Pierre Rolland allowed to referee the Rugby Semi Final ?
His father is french so of course he will want to see France win. It is a disgrace that move did not warrant a red card. Wales were robbed. I think that there have been some bad decisions made this world cup I am an English supporter

The referee blew the red card incident as it lies in the book. The player was lifted up more than 90 degrees and dropped on his head. Malice or not. The law book says red card so a red card is what he got. We would be moaning about the inconstancy if he didn't get a red.
Remember when Schalk Burger was accused of eye gouging in the Lions tour and he got a yellow when the book says he should get a red and all the Lions supporters were up in arms about it. The same thing applies here. The book says red so it should be a red. He was reckless and it cost Wales a chance in a final.
Plus points were left on the field!

Give the guy a break. Its a tough job to ref a Semi, and he should of been handed the NZ Aus final. This was inevitably going to arise if anything mildly controversial arised.
I hope this calms down as it will ruin his career if it keeps up. Atleast he had the confidence to not be ultraconservative like most refs would be in such a sitaution. That said I think it was a yellow. Atleast if a team screws up they have eachother. Currently its Rolland vs A heck of a lot of disgruntled fans.

"It is a disgrace that move did not warrant a red card."
Yes it did, and the rules clearly state that.
"Wales were robbed."
No they weren't, they had more than enough opportunity to kick the points that would have got them past France, it was neither the fault of the ref, who perfectly upheld the laws of rugby, nor the fault of the French that Wales failed to take their opportunities to score.
Apart from the missed conversion, and a penalty kick that looked too far out, Wales also had gained two good positions from which to attempt drop goals, and didn't make those plays. Hence discounting the long penalty kick, Wales spurned eight points, which would have seen them win 16-9.

I think it was an absolute disgrace that he as allowed to referee this match
I have said before that it think it is gross misconduct to allow a ref to referee a match if he has any kind of connection to any of the teams playing
Especially not when wales were knocked out by ireland (him being half irish) and then him being half french (the team then playing wales) he was even heard talking to to one of the french players in french who know what he said?!
The IRB calls ref's like alain "neutral" i really think they need to refer a dictionary and actually look up the word
I am a Northern Irish Australian but i don't support Ireland you being from England you will understand the whole Ireland/Northern Ireland thing lol
This has been a spectacular world cup not for the players playing but for the abysmal referring!
And why did i get a thumbs down?????????????? im speaking the truth!!!!!!!

That is the Big question ! he's half French half Irish, Ireland have been knocked out by Wales, France are playing, are the IRB being run by Sepp Blatter now ?

Rugby is mainly played in GB and its former colonies. If Anglophones weren't so bloody useless with foreign languages there'd be a far more bilingual refs to choose from.
