How much could I sell this computer for?

I have decided to buy computer parts and build a computer that I could sell.

I thought it would be better starting low, than eventually getting higher, anyway I spent about £180 on components.

Here they are.

3.0 GHz AMD Athlon II X3 Processor

Cooler Master Hyper TX3 CPU Cooler

22x DVD Writer

Gigabyte NVIDIA GeForce Motherboard GA-M68MT-S2P

160GB Hard Drive Seagate Barracuda SATA 6Gb/s

Kingston ValueRAM 4GB (2x2GB) 1066MHz DDR3

Olympix FC-OL01A Case (comes with 500W PSU)

2 USB 2.0

Audio x 1

Speaker x 1

7 Expansion Slots.

I will probably use the Ubuntu operating system as Windows 7 does cost a lot.

Roughly what price will I get for selling this as a full built system?

I am looking to make atleast a £30 profit.

Thanks.

the problem with building your own machines to sell is that it is difficult to buy the components at a reasonable cost. I buy at trade prices not retail, and it is still difficult to compete against the local super markets and electrical stores who are buying branded items at silly money and making almost no profit. Talking to one store manager he tells me that they make 25€ per sale on a 500€ PC and just 20€ on a laptop, and this is a national chain of stores here in Spain.

Your issue is one of specs, 160Gb is considered small, the Athlon is not considered a good processor (though it is actually not that bad, just not advertised!) and you have no installed Operating System, Linux is not going to persuade people to buy it. You should have looked into an OEM copy of Windows when you bought the hardware.

You need to sell the good bits, brand new, after market cooling, latest SATA 3 and DDR3 and you may be able to squeeze £250 for it, perhaps only £299 with Windows installed.

really depends on your target demographic... from experience if you are selling to someone that doesn't understand too much about computers you can make a lot by the way you present the system. Normally people who understand the hardware will know how much its worth and won't want to pay you 30 pounds for assemly....

Try £200 or nearest offer and good luck

Crap computers are ten a penny.

it will be just a second hand computer put together from

    component parts.

    it is worthless.

you might get a score for it if you are lucky.
