i think the 1st reply was a little paranoid, hackers are not going to spend any ammount of time trying to get your info.they are looking for big fast easy scores..if you dont do online banking and are not typing in your social security numbers everyday i think you will be ok...if you dont do either of those things the worst that could happen is maybe have your e-mail hijacked or if you play a online game you may lose it(until it can be restored) minor stuff really.nothing to chew your finger nails about.

Whoever you are and however little (or much) you have, you do not want to be hacked. It is possible to steal another person's identity and then break laws, buy and borrow using that identity.

The first thing you know about it is when you get a court summons for something you didn't do, and you have to prove that it wasn't you.

Happens a lot and is very worrying but there's nothing you can do about it.

Not hacking as such but just to make it clear how worried you should be - I was recently a victim of "skimming". Some crooks put a dummy keyboard with a tiny camera on the cash machine and copied my card details and PIN number. Even the police couldn't tell the difference between the normal keyboard and the dummy. The next day they took $1300 off my account at a cash machine in the USA! Luckily the bank have given me my money back, but it can happen so easily.
