what's the hope for someone with severe emphesema. age 59 yrs?

    Unfortunately emphysema is not a reversible condition. You must ensure that you do not indulge in any causal activity such as smoking in order to at least slow the rate of decline in lung function.

    With the right drugs and combo of drugs lung functions can improve-the disease itself will never go away but can be controlled . Meds -though it may take a while to get right combo-excercise and proper diet can work wonders.There is realistic hope. suggest you see a pulmonary doc
