Help with garage door opener dip switches?

We have an old glidermatic deluxe garage door opener and my remote was stolen a few months ago. It has 9 dip switches inside the wall box all with + - or o. I brought a second hand remote but it had 2 small lots of 8 dip switches inside it only with an on and I think it's a o or - as it doesn't say. Can I program this? Iv tried to do what all the manuals on the net say but I can't find one for that model. The remote is also gludermatic but I'm guessing its from a different type of opener.

if the remote only has two settings + & - and with only 8 dip switches - it will note work. I would change them in your receiver since the one you had was lost - for safety reasons. you need to get the model # from your receiver to match up a remote for it. you can try local garage door co or ebay.

If anyone can advise you, it should be Gliderol. Go to http://www.gliderol.com/ and ask them for help.

If that doesn't work out, another option is to install a new receiver. You can attach it to the same wires that the push-button mounted in the garage uses. The ones pictured here-

are good quality and reasonably priced.
