re-drawing a poster desgin, and colouring it, .... copyright? 10 points!?
im starting T-shirt designs, and my first design was some zombie hands coming out the ground, i took that idea from a bands tour poster, I drew it up and made it my own, then added completely different colours to it,
does this still violate terms of copyright if i re-drew it and made it my own?
thanks

Yes, derivative work based on an orignal is a violation of copyright law. The most famous example is the photograph of dogs-may have been Wegman's-that was copied and made into a statue. Huge fines.

Yes it can be because you copied the original concept. Mabye position the hands differently and add a different backround. Say you copied a hello kitty design but added a different color scope. Its still a hello kitty design.
