Problems with e-mails sent with a windows 'File Extension'?
I am running on Widows XP and sometimes receive an e-mail with a link that leads to a windows file extension that I can't open. Is it that there is a programme missing or is there any way I can open a windows file extension?
The mail programme used is BT/Yahoo Mail.

Hi,
Well first what is the file extension as there a a lot of extensions used in windows.
Secondly are you sure you want to open that file, have you made sure that it is not a virus?
What mail program are you using?
Just mail me for help.

You shouldn't be trying to open attachments in e-mails unless you know exactly what it is and you are expecting it. This is a very easy way to get hacked. An extension you can't open usually means that it's something that has no program defined to open it with.
