Oil Spill On Ceramic Hob?

I had a bit of an accident with a bottle of oil a couple of days ago and have been applying your ordinary household sprays, leaving it and then wiping up, but there is still a slick of oil and if I turn the hob rings on there is a burning smell, suggesting that it still there and I wonder if anyone has any tips as to how to get rid of the stuff? I take care of my oven beautifully, especially the top, but this is getting on my nerves and one of these days the smoke alarms are going to go off!

In my local £1 shop i bought a spray cleaner called elbow grease it is bright yellow but is really really good at getting rid of grease and oil. you could also try a product called Astonish paste that is also good at cleaning burnt on marks and oily marks.
