If 1 is desperately lonely & 10 is not at all lonely, how lonely are you?
Of course alone & lonely are not at all the same thing.
One can be perfectly happy on ones own & painfully lonely in a crowd.
Tonight I am both alone & lonely :-(

I know that 10 should signify being the most lonely, but I felt that 1 more aptly suited my current mood :-(

This is how I constantly feel.
How lonely am I? When I am by myself, I feel it is a 10, because I am perfectly satisfied to have myself as company. When I am in a big crowd of strangers, I feel it is a 1, or perhaps a 0, because being surrounded by so many doesn't necessarily open up a wound, but reminds me of the scar.
