Where is it okay to cut your toenails?
I've just been told that cutting ones toenails in the bathroom is disgusting.
I used to have a friend who's girlfriend used to cut her toenails in their bed !
Now I understand why that is wrong & I've heard people complain about others doing it in the kitchen & the living room, which is understandable, but I would have thought it should be okay to do it in the bathroom :-\
If not the bathroom then where is it okay to cut your toenails?
@outhval - I think that is probably the best solution for some people [issues] lol.
@Rum Cove - collecting the clippings seems to be the key here.
I never thought of putting them in the garden.
I should have realised though. Nails are made of the same stuff as hair & I always put hair cuttings in the compost :-)
@NoKillEye2.0 - Unfortunately what you say only holds true if one lives alone.
When we are forced, or choose, to share our living space with others compromises have to be made.
Usually there is some sort of 'norm' to which we can refer, but this subject seems to have widely varying points of view.
We need a national consensus on where to cut toenails !

Anywhere is good, as long as you collect the cuttings and dig them into the soil in a plant pot.

I suspect the person who told you cutting toenails in the bathroom is disgusting has regular pedicures.
The bathroom is fine as long as you clear up afterwards. I would so the same of any room where you can be private and don't prepare or eat food.

I say the only really inappropriate place to cut your toenails would be maybe at a table in a restaurant, at work or somewhere generally in public. If you are in privacy and it's your house, there are no rules but the ones you feel like making up.

So long as you collect the cuttings and remove them, it should be fine to cut them in the bathroom.
Some people just tend to overreact.

I save my ft at a distance and shrink, yet, i never close my eyes, only in case i snip too lots off. I quite have never quite gotton any of the surplus bits in my eyes the two.

It just depends on your lifestyle... and your daily activities... Myself personally I keep my nail at about a quarter inch from the particular tips of my fingers because I actually type all day
