Good 400m time for a 13 year old boy?

I have had no training but I am starting on Sunday. I am good at sprinting, I ran for my school in my city trials last week and i won u14's 100m and 200m and i won 100m and 4x100m relay last year at sportsday. Also I'm the fastest kid in my year, which is year 8 so 12-13year olds. In P.E. I won 100m and tied first in 800m because we are hand timed and it was too close. Can you give me a target for the 400m which is actually achievable because I have no idea what a good time for the 400m would be. Thanks :)

Update:

100m - 12.66

200m - 26.19

    Check out http://www.thepowerof10.info/

    click on sex >> age (under15) >> distance(s)

You will find out what times other athletes your age are running and see where you rank.

An achievable goal for 400m this year (from the info you've provided) is anywhere near 60 0r sub secs. Lactic acid will build up in your legs (which will slow you) and to run a 400m you need speed endurance.

Spend time with your coach building up speed over shorter distances before moving up.

Age is on your side and you have plenty more years (if you continue to enjoy it) of athletic career ahead of you.

    Be patient and Good luck!

I'd be able to give you a better estimate on what can you run if you had posted your 100m and 200m times. But 13 year old, 57 seconds or below is solid. I was state champ when I was in 8th grade (14) with 54.8 (it was a relatively slow state group, but hey, I won!) Sounds like you're a trackstar, so you can probably run at least 57. But make sure you do some stamina training if the only training you have been doing was towards the 100m or 200m dashes. You gotta run the 400 hard the wholee time.
