The version of calculator on my windows machine calculates cos(x) by:

    1. Menu/View/Scientific to set the Scientific user interface

    1. Use the number keys to enter the value of x

    3. Press the "cos" key.

    cos(45) = 0.70710678118654752440084436210485

First pull up your calculator from the menu.

Then, hit the "view" button at the top.

    Then, select the "scientific" choice.

Then, select the value you want for your x term

    Then, hit the "cos" button.
