What's with TIPS? I've never stiffed a ...?
I've never stiffed a wait-person but how did it originate that we
subsidize a restaurant owner's (and others') payroll costs to get good service which is a given in most other retail businesses?

I guess restaurant owners got greedy and didn't like seeing waiters/waitresses making good money by their tips...as for me, if service is bad I will only tip 10%...rather than 15%....
