2012 Olympics, which game has been added/removed?

It used to be that the host nation added a sport to the Olympic games and removed one. Does this custom still continue and if so, what games have been added/removed in 2012.

    I've never heard of this custom. But I know it does not exist today. The International Olympic Committee controls what sports are added or removed from the Games. One lost for this games is baseball/softball.

    Don't be absurd. The last time any Olympics were cancelled was due to World War II. Basically half the world has to be falling apart for them to cancel an Olympics.
