Why are womens/girls bodies put on display in the sport of volleyball?

well ... in highschool the spandex briefs are because when playing volleyball you have to be quick and lets say something like basketball shorts would slow you down A LOT, the spandex forms to your body so your at your best and beach volleyball they wear bikinis because its really hot at the beach and if your wearing a rash guard you'll have a farmers tan and board shorts will definitly slow you down as well but still why not a one piece? its because thats honestly the players choice which swim suit she wants to wear...and i didnt quite understand why it looked as if women are being put on display till i started playing as well... hope this answered your question :)

Girls don't play the sport to show off there body! They play because they love the game. Personally I love the spandex because they are really comfortable and are easy to move in. If you wear wearing something like basketball shorts they would slow you down. And in volleyball you are constantly diving so you want something that will stay in place and won't slip off if you dive. . They are a lot more comfortable when you are playing. In beach volleyball it would be very hot and you want a way to stay cool when you are playing. It is the players choice of what they wear when playing sports. Girls don't just wear the bikinis in volleyball. They wear them places to the beach or pool most of the summer. But mostly in my reason why we wear what we do as a volleyball player it is to be comfortable while playing!

some women expose their bodies all the time... not just in volleyball. Why not show off your nice body and feel good about it

I have no clue if it were my choice they would wear at least running shorts and a t- shirt.
