Fortune in the natal chart?

I don't fully understand 'fortune' in the natal chart. Not sure why, because I've looked it up several times, but what exactly does it do to a person? How does it effect me?

Also, what would Fortune in virgo, 5th house, at 5 degrees mean for me?

Thanks

It is called the "Pars Fortuna" or "Part of Fortune".

It indicates what you THINK will make you happy ... but not what will actually make you happy.

You think romantic love (5th house) will make you happy.

After reading people's timed birth charts (in person) for over 40 years, I can tell you that the Part of Fortune is NOT the "most fortunate" part of your chart. If anything, the matters of whatever house Pars Fortuna is in often do not work out very well. Much depends, however, on the nature of aspects that the natal planets might make to the POF.

Part of fortune in Virgo in the 5th house suggests an excellent placement for 5th house matters especially in speculations. Your momentum for personal growth is high and the creative or emotional energies tend to overflow in one way or another. Emotional elation may be found in creative artistic activity or in a will to power. Be careful if you have gambling urge which are usually present. The Virgo placement shows the personal search for happiness and self-realization operates through intellectual analysis, self-criticism in overcoming obstacles. You rely on technique and a set procedures of work seems necessary if integration and personal success is to be reached.

I am not a big fan of the Arabian Parts, and in my opinion, I don't know why, if people are going to use them, they only use one of them. There are dozens and dozens of Arabian Parts.
