Help with checking for virus or other? Only serious & relevant answers please.?

Need some explaination re this event.

Three days ago I expected delivery of parcel/s = Number unknown = One or two?

One arrived. Then Last night I received an email from delivery = ( Logo =FEDEX) Sender = Royal Mail to my emaiI address saying unable to deliver & parcel at post office.

Bottom of the email message was a box = 'Click for Postal Receipt'.

I Clicked and printed off receipt. Then today I find its a scam onfirmed by Fedex also no parcel at PO. This email has also vanished from computer .

I have Norton 360 for security which lists the usual headings and under each one EG PC Security; Identity; Backup; PC Tune. etc and underneath each heading is the word Protected.

what is the liklihood of a problem/what kind of problem/What should I do please.

Not comp literate.

If you trust Norton you are at serious risk. You, let this in by clicking the link without thinking, you obviously did not use your brain, once you do that, Norton will totally ignore it. Your machine could now be sending out personal details all round the Internet. Download the free scanner from :

    http://malwarebytes.org,/ run the full scan.

For future reference, LOOK at the details of EVERY email you receive. Spelling, grammar, the actually email address and the web address, neither of which will actually be FEDEX. Also none of these firms has any connection with the post office. A little thought can save a lot of trouble. Just hope your visit to their scam site did not pass out any credit card, bank account or similar details while you were there.

Do not use norton. They are not the top security out there neither is mcafee. Check your PC with malwarebytes they offer a 14 day free trial you can obtain at the links below. Also get free virus protection from avast. Do a boot system scan with avast and run malwarebytes full scan on the system and from this day forth your virus issues shall become extinct ;)
