DLA Benefits Tribunal?

I do not know what section to put this in, but I have a tribunal coming up on Friday and wonder if anyone who as been through one has any tips and advice? Went through one several years ago, the board wanted to give me the benefit back again, but the man from the DSS who had never met me or read my case notes turned up and turned me down. My condition has worsened considerably so am persuing it again.

Update:

I should point out that CAB have helped me with the forms and set up the appeal, so I have not left it too late. It is the tribunal tomorrow, and I get very confused, tongue tied and find it difficult to concentrate on questions and answers when nervous, and I am - to put it politely, very nervous!

The other problem is that someone is allowed to come with me, and is indeed working with me on her holiday, but is not allowed to help me verbally!

I have assisted people with DLA tribunals and am helping in one next Friday. In my experience your supporter will be allowed to speak on your behalf but the tribunal will also want to hear from you in your own words how your disability affects your daily life, just go ahead and tell them.

You've probably already pulled together all the written evidence so just take your time and speak truthfully, lots and lots of luck x

you're able to be able to desire to touch your community C.A.B or welfare rights first difficulty the following day morning, and tell them you have a tribunal next week. you have confirmed by skill of your Q which you completely misunderstand the allure technique and entitlement standards for DLA. they gained't care nor evaluate your financial concern, sure this is why disabled actually everyone seems to be paid this earnings - to help with the added expenditures that having a incapacity brings, whether that is no longer slightly in figuring out entitlement. this is fairly based on the assist you prefer with own care or getting around, and added corroboration from GP's or wellness center experts. in case you nonetheless insist on representing your self then no less than seek for on the spot professional suggestion.

My advice would have been to utilise someone from the Citizens Advice Bureau but you've left it rather late.

Either way though, I think you'll do well to visit the following website

    Good luck!

Hi if you are a genuine case, there is absolutely nothing to worry about.

as a benefit holder myself it is only those who are trying to con them that need fear as they will be found out.
