For a Valentine's Day gift my wife wants me to get a tattoo of her name on the side of my neck. Should I?

Here is the family poll.

Mother in law: "Yeah, I guess it is OK."

My Mom: "I don't know-sounds kind of trashy."

Our Daughter: "Super cool...Go for it."

Me: "I luv ya-I'll do it.

nah. i mean, if you want too, cool. do it. but i don't think you actually want to, right? or you wouldn't be on yahoo answers, asking strangers. lol anyways, picture yourself 20 yrs from now...do you think you'll still love and be with this woman? what will it look like? and will it be a regret later on? don't do it for her, but do it for you..if you don't want too, i'm sure she'll understand, but if she doesn't then guess she just wants a man with her name on a neck. lmao! smh but, really. don't put it somewhere you can't hide or cover up.. and if you do get it, put it in really small letters lmao..good luck????

if all else fails or your wife tries to threaten you, just everyday right "kathy" or "bernand" whatever the hell her name is, on your neck with permanent marker. she'll never notice.....

I know way too many people that get names tattooed then some bizarro thing happens and they break up. Don't do her name. Maybe get a copy of her finger print and tattoo it or maybe your first initial then in the middle your daughters initial then finishing up with her first initial. Like a monogram. Or your initial your last name initial then her first initial. Or maybe her zodiac sign. Anything but a name. Bad luck totally.

No. And I'm not saying that because of the whole, "never get a name tattooed on you."

My guy has my name tattooed plain as day across his stomach, and it didn't 'jinx' us.

I'm saying no, because it's your neck. It's hard to cover up when needed, and if the wrong artist does it, it could look awful.

Maybe try a different spot if you decide to have her name on you.

    Good luck to you. :)

Sweetie, I wouldn't send her anything!! If my ex ever sent me anything, I would call a friend who just happens to be the detective who investigate my son's death. He knows all about what he did to me and will throw him in jail. xo Other than that a box of coal or what someone here suggested a box of laxative.

Her heart is in the right place, but for a Valentines Day gift, she should get YOUR name on the side of HER neck, and surprise you with it. The other way around, she's just tagging you.

on the neck? As long as you are OK with looking like a meth head ex-con. Tattoos on necks/face are about the trashiest thing you can do

If you don't feel completely ok with doing it then dont. If she throws a fit then why isn't she getting a tattoo of your name too? She needs to understand what a big thing a tattoo is

Not on your neck!! It will look horrible.

Maybe inside o your arm in between your wrist and elbow, but don't get it to big!

    Ankle?

    Or ribs?
