When younger I loved London with a passion but it's now become so 'Multicultural' I feel a stranger there and only visit when it's necessary.

The same swamping by immigrants has affected many of our ancient towns and cities but those I would still like to visit are Colchester, Norwich, York and Cirencester. My experience abroad is limited but I was so taken by La Rochelle in France I revisited a number of times and hope to do so again before I check out.

I don't have a favorite town but I don't like anyplace big enough to be called a city. The town I live closest to now has a population of less than 10,000. Even that's bigger than I like.

    Darwin,in the Northern Territory, Australia.

I love Darwin because it's very casual, the only place ever I went the wrong way up a one way street, and the driver of the oncoming car waggled his finger at me and laughed, only in Darwin ! It's also near wonderful aboriginal rock painting and lots of wild life ,of both types lol.

There are so many I've never gotten to as an adult. My favorite is New Orleans and the drive to get there. I'd love to be able to travel the world and I'm still saving for my trip to Scotland. There are so many places I would love to go.

There is no other place in the world so legendary, visionary, sleazy, corrupt, wild, dreamlike, powerful, glamourous, cosmopolitan, left-wing, right-wing, rich, poor, unique, and devoted to vice, salvation, money, pleasure, and fantasy.
