Getting melted plastic off hob?

I melted a plastic packet on a hob and have tried using a damp cloth and scraping it with a knife with no success. How can I get it off?

    Burn the bejesus out of it. When it has turned to carbon, it will scrape off easier.

    Warm it back up slighly , spray with some cleaner, scrape with a razor knife.
