With the third series of The Game Of Thrones tv show airing in April,are fans of the books satisfied with the direction that the show has taken thus far?

    Sometimes yes, sometimes no. The first season was pretty spot on, but as the story progresses the plot gets more creative.

    I am particularly taken with the Jaime Lannister casting.

  • I am. Some of the changes are annoying, like Ros and Talisa and some of Dany's storyline but ultimately asoiaf is an incredibly difficult series to adapt and I think they've done a great job. There was so much room for disaster.

    That depends on the fan you ask.

    Most of the ones I know think HBO's adaptation is pretty good--but they know who the characters are and are unlikely to get mixed up with the supporting players. Are people who haven't read the books confused? Some of them are, yes.

    It does appear they weren't cheap about production values, which is always a good sign.
