car leaks in rain all seals good?
it rained hard for like 30 min I went out to the car and in the passenger foot well I could see water running from under the dash down to under the carpet of the passenger side. I first checked the all the window seals/door seals befor noticing the water running down the foot well. it was parked at a slant toward the passenger side don't know if that helped the water get in but I know that this aint normal so anybody clue me in on wat I might need to do/FIX I don't really run the ac so it shouldn't be that /////2002 impala

most times there are 2 possible reasons for this.
the #1 reason is that the urethane based glue that holds in the windshield has given up. [windshields that are glue in are considered part of the body structure, this becomes very important in a crash especially when the passenger air bag is deployed] the proper repair involves removing the glass
and glue [if very careful the glass can be reused, but it generally breaks during the removal process approx 85% of the time. it would be best to plan for a new glass].
the#2 reason is the cowl screen and it's hidden drains are clogged with debris [twigs pine tags, leaf material etc.] i have also found mouse nests here in garage kept cars. if equipped with a sun-roof the drains for this may also be clogged.
one last drastic possibility [if you did not purchase vehicle new] the car could have been in an accident and a seam had opened up in the crash was either not repaired or repaired improperly
Source(s): for your wallet's sake i hope you find a clogged up cowl, just be glad that you dont own a volkswagon product as water has completely filled the cowl on these and gotten into the computer compartments ruining them to the tune of actually totaling a car that was only a few years old - ?Lv 45 years ago
It's feasible, but it would be a leak from the cowl above the hood. Or might be the seal is vulnerable in your windshield. On a high-quality day, sit down on your car, and have another character use a backyard hose on your auto, and watch to see the place the water is available in. Except then, sop up all the water that you may with towels, and take a warmth gun or hair dryer and dry the carpet the first-class that you could. Probably you could spend money on a low-priced auto quilt for now to place over the car if you find yourself now not driving it. If the ground is continuously moist, it's going to rot and you are going to need to exchange the floor panel.

if the weather stripping is in good shape then adjust the doors so they will close tighter against the stripping !
