PC Cleaner Pro - anybody had any problems with this programme?
I have a 0x8024001e error, (only when trying to download from Windows Store). I am using Windows 8 64 bit on a Samsung laptop and have no problem downloading anything else. I have used Malwarebytes, SuperAntiSpyware and Microsofts own security programme, but none have found anything wrong. In desperation, I bought PC Cleaner Pro, but that did nothing. After spending over 3 hours on line with one of their technicians, I was told to ring a number to get '"Advanced" help! Anybody out there got history with PC Cleaner or any advice please?
TIKI - like the advice, but which two got hit with class actions?
TIKI - sorry, can't read right - ignore my last!

Its a malicious program. Run Ccleaner in Safe Mode and see if you can delete it that way. Click Tools on the left hand panel, click the program from the list, then select Uninstall. Then run your anti spyware and Avast anti Virus in Safe Mode.

http://www.avast.com/en-gb/index - Avast anti virus
http://www.crawler.com/products/spyware-terminator... - spyware-terminator
http://www.safer-networking.org/private/details/#F... - spybot Search and Destroy
Download, install, update and run all these in Safe Mode. To get into Safe Mode, restart your pc and repeatedly press F8 as it restarts. Some malware consists of 2 files and one will re-instate the other if it is removed. Safe Mode stops this.

well given the fact that they got hit with a class action lawsuit a couple of years ago I'm surprised as heck they're still around!
It sounds to me like you've got a couple of problems right off the bat.
1. Uninstall all of the security crap you've installed, scanners, guards, protectors and so on.
2. Manually clear your internet cache
The problem is most likely just a corrupted cookie, it's not super common anymore but it still happens. It's either that or you've got too many anti-everything programs installed and they're conflicting. Personally I just run Microsoft Security Essentials and Spubot Search and Destroy for two reasons. They work great and they're both free!!! I've worked in the I.T. industry for around 20 years now and tried everything out to see how it works, that combo is solid and works better than paid solutions any day of the week.
You may also want to look into downloading from another browser, like FireFox, it's free and works like a champ! Just don't import anything from Internet explorer when you install it and you won't get the corrupted cookie issue.

Nope: Shouldnt download it, here are some reasons.
1. Full of spyware
2. Lags your computer
3. Makes your computer slow
4. Sometimes drives your computer into safe mode
5. Ads popping

Cleaning the register is a good way of improving the performances of your pc and eliminate malwares and trojans. A program I trust is CCleaner http://bitly.com/UrARQ0
