What are your Independence Day plans?

Happy Independence Day to our American brethren ... and sistren. Before you say it's not Independence Day, it is 4th July in the UK by two hours and since the original borough of Washington is within the boundaries of the town I live in, we mark it a bit.

    Read the Declaration of Independence

An Act of Treason; Not a Law

The Declaration of Independence was more a process than a moment in history. This act of treason against an empire sparked the Revolutionary War and, eventually, the United States of America. It is not, and has never been, a law, but it is worth reading.

I plan on sleeping till noon, blaring the "Revolution 100!" on the Blitz (Top 100 most requested songs), eat a bunch, then watch fireworks being set off in the park across the street from my home. Then maybe read until 5 AM....

Well nothing because it doesn't make sense why we should celebrate another country's independence day. Lots of countries have independence days but they don't seem to expect other countries to bother with it. Don't people have any logic?
